Night Time Out

An ekphrastic poem based on Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh

Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh

A stroll out within the
town, the storm of rush hour
the stony asphalt, dreaming of your
sultry palms on my
frigid, scrawny hand, pressing the
coziness while watching
the stars, the moon,
a triumph of hues, pigments and
tints creating something
ravishing.

The moon glimmers onto us,
blazing as if it was dusk, gazing
into the pearls of your eyes,
twinkling at me, jaw-dropping
on how the simplistic things in life
are beautiful- something that’s
taken for granted…

my eyes rose up for it
to be the next day of
reality-

the place where I want to escape.
